É uma aposta ética porque envolve a atitude de usuários, gestores e profissionais de saúde comprometidos e co-responsáveis. É estética porque se refere ao processo de produção da saúde e de subjetividades autônomas e protagonistas. Você pode comprar? Não, não se vende a humanização, se executa. Pura e simplismente assim! Infelizmente o #bum do processo, para muitos profissionais e instituições, serviu apenas para usar o termo e vender um determinado produto palpável ou uma nova rotina na instituição de não realizar lavagem intestinal, de "permitir" a entrada de #doula ou #enfermeiraobstetrica por exemplo. Não, isso não é permissão, é #diteitodamulher !!! A humanização vai muito além pois é uma descontrução de estruturas, de rotinas, de protocolos, de condutas, de pensamentos, de quebra de tabus, de pedestais... se é difícil? Sim, muito difícil. Mas, se é possível? Sim, é possível! Mas, estude, questione, pegue sua gestação com unhas e dentes para que não venham lhe vender um plástico transparente como cesárea humanizada e você aceite, ache lindo mas, no fundo, nem saiba o porque a indicação real da cesareana ou, mesmo que por escolha, tenha sido esclarecida (verdadeiramente) sobre os riscos. Ou ainda, se no parto normal, lhe determinarem a posição que deve adotar, se vai ficar na água ou fora dela. Será que essa assistência foi humanizada? A humanização vai muito além. Nunca sabemos como vai acontecer, nossa função é conversar sobre as possibilidades, estar atentas aos sinais de complicações para agir e preparadas para contribuir com o processo. A ‘late’ bedtime is a subjective concept. I hear so often that a 7pm bedtime is right for most under 5’s. This is a socially constructed idea that does not fit with every culture or lifestyle. In many cultures, a later bedtime is appropriate because the day starts later, or there’s a late nap to factor in. If your bedtime works for you and your child, that’s awesome. Please know that if I ever suggest an earlier bedtime, I don’t mean 7pm, or 6.30pm, or even 8pm – I just mean earlier than you are currently trying. ‘Yeah, right’- is what I used to think when people would say they believed that how we are born is somehow ‘remembered’. I thought that was floaty hippie shit. As a psychologist I knew cognitive memory develops much later. So I assumed that we cannot store information from before 2-3 years of age. Until I met Anna Verwaal @fromwombtoworld last year at the Dutch Doula Conference. She is a perinatal psychologist and member of the APPAH. (Association for Prenatal and Perinatal Psychology and Health). When she started talking about cellular memory and how are bodies store sound, touch and emotions, which is an older and deeper level of knowing than cognition I knew for myself that what she was talking about was very real. She continued that our experiences in the womb influence our life, way beyond birth. As we are ‘marinated’ in the amniotic fluid of our mothers womb. Influenced by her emotions, hormones & health. Our cells are even further impacted by our maternal line as half of our genetic material was already present, in the ovaries of our mother, when she was a fetus in our grandmother. Amazing right? Anna continued to also explain how birth experiences may create life long patterns. That may be particularly strong in stressful circumstances (ceasarean, forceps or vacuum delivery, prematurity) She talked about much more, and everyone left the room she had been teaching in a bit shook up. As this theme touched those who had birthed, their mother and for some even the life of their grandmother. Bottom line: how we Birth is very important. What do you know about how you were born? I went for the Pro Bump Support Band by @baobeimaternity as I did not want a big belly band with a velcro closure & also wanted to support a small business run by a super duper mama, who btw is also a women’s health physiotherapist & pilates instructor! Turns out that this Pro Bump Support Band can also be worn during postpartum as it’s designed to apply just the right amount of pressure in order to work with and not for the body towards rebuilding abdominal muscles and overall core strength.Though I liked the Bengkung Belly Bind, this one here was easier to put on & more discrete to wear. Dzień dobry☀️ Właśnie popijam kawę i jem pyszne pierniki i chcę się z wami podzielić krótką historią. Ten kto mnie zna wie, że nie upiekłam tych pierników👩🏼‍🍳❌ Będzie o świadomym rodzicielstwie i dobrym przygotowaniu do... nie, nie porodu🤰🏼 do połogu🤱🏼♥️ ⭐️Wczoraj wieczorem byłam u rodziców których wraz z ekipą @moja_oksytocyna miałyśmy przyjemność przygotowywać do rodzicielstwa 😊 Po dobrym i szybkim porodzie oddział położniczy dał się młodej mamie we znaki. Przepełnienie i brak wsparcia. Smutna rzeczywistość. Zamiast porady laktacyjnej dostała najszybsze rozwiązanie czyli butelkę mieszanki modyfikowanej 🍼 Na szczęście rodzice byli z nami w kontakcie i widząc, że szpitalna atmosfera nie sprzyja ucieszyli się kiedy na 3 dobę dostali wypis. ⭐️Odwiedziłam ich jeszcze tego samego dnia. Okazało się, że mleko jest (shockingly👀), dziecię ssie pierś, robi kupki i przybiera na masie - kłaniają się wskaźniki skutecznego karmienia 🥰 Trzeba było jedynie pomóc mamie przyjąć prawidłową pozycję do karmienia. ⭐️Wracając do przygotowania do połogu. Rodzice dołożyli wszelkich starań by wszytko co możliwe było zrobione przed porodem (gotowanie i sprzątanie). Choinka ubrana🎄 pierogi zamrożone 🥟 pierniki upieczone 🍪 Po powrocie mogli skupić się na poznawaniu nowego członka rodziny 👶🏻 na odpowiadaniu na jego potrzeby i oczywiście na zaspakajaniu swoich potrzeb np snu 😴 Spisali się na medal 🏅 ⭐️Zadbali też o to by mieć odpowiednie sparcie. Wykupili nasz pakiet połogowy czyli wizyty położnej, douli - Asi Kozakiewicz i fizjoterapeutki - Agnieszki Ptak 🙂 Dzięki temu jeżeli pojawią się wątpliwości mogą do nas dzwonić lub spotkać się. ⭐️Takiego przygotowania i wam życzę, szykujcie się nie tylko na poród ale też na połóg 🙂 ps pierniki są oczywiście od nich 🥰 #ciąża #poród #połóg #laktacja #karmieniepiersią #oksytocyna #dobtyporód #dobrypołóg #wsparcie #położna #doula #fizjoterapeutka #rodzew2019 #rodzew2020

You are having a baby. This is something you have chosen to do with your body. It is a private thing. It is your baby. Maternity care is offered to you to support you in that. Research has shown that certain things, on a population level, improve outcomes. So these are offered. Somethings there is little or no research on but they seem to work so they are offered. Research has shown that somethings don't help, but sometimes these things are still offered because that's the way we've been doing it. In order to make this work there is a maternity care system, with guidelines and policies. None of it is obligatory. You may decide to accept every appointment, test and intervention, or may decide to decline all or some. It is up to you. It is worth thinking or asking about the following: Why is this being offered? What is it for? What will it do? What are the Benefits to my baby and me of this? What are the downsides to this? (Risks) What might happen as a result? What Alternatives are there? How do I feel about this? What do my Instincts say? What if I don't? What if we do Nothing for now? What then? You might find it useful to remain it as using your B R A I N. So, for example, scans: do you know why each one is offered? What are they looking for? What would be the benefit of finding out? What if something is shown? Do you want to know? What might be the consequences? What is the research around the safety of scans? How do I feel about scans? You can accept or decline each scan, and elements within a scan. For example you might decide to accept a dating scan but do not want the sonographer to look for markers of Down's Syndrome. Or you could decide you only want them to look at the markers and not at the dates. If you don't want to know about Down's Syndrome markers and know your dates (or don't want to risk them being changed by the scan because it might cause problems if you go past your 'due date') then you might like to decline it completely. BE REVOLUTIONARY ⠀ @resilient.birth posted this recently and it spoke to me. We rank 55th globally for maternal mortality in a country that spends more than any other on maternal medicine. We need change and it doesn’t happen without informed, empowered, and emboldened expectant folks speaking up for their needs to be met with evidence based care, respect, for permission, and without bias. ⠀ ⠀ Teaching prenatal yoga is one of the ways I work to improve pregnancy, birth, and beyond. Practicing yoga doesn’t mean we sit idly waiting for someone else to create change. We have an opportunity each day in our own practice and how we share with others. Teach non-judgemental classes that instill creativity and connection rather than fear, rules, and worries. Focus on what works for you, on your mat, in your breath and body. Focus on what you can do, like to do, and what feels best for you vs all the things we “ought to avoid.” We can create a supportive environment where students can practice self advocacy skills that benefit them, their births, and how they raise their child’s later on. It literally can change generations. When a parent finds peace they share that joy with their child. It’s important to remember, moms feel vulnerable after the birth of their baby. As a post-pregnancy doula I nurture moms with encouragement, respect, and patience. I aim for moms to give themselves the same encouragement, respect, and patience. . . . We can love on moms just like we love on their babies.
