#TBT to two sisters having a ball together in their old crib. A lot of changes are happening in our house to get ready for the new baby. Last week Emmeline said goodbye to her crib and hello to her new “big girl” bed. It was a bitter sweet moment for this Momma.😢 It’s taken a full week but she has slept through the night the last two nights. 🙌🏼 Rose even got an upgrade too. It’s with the saddest regret that we announce the death of our father Clayton Lane Bonnell, on December 4, 2019. He was a husband to our stepmother, Ann Bonnell for 17 years. Father to Robert, Chelsea, Miriam, Brandt and Margaret Ann. Father in-law to Bobby, Danielle and Maggie. Grandfather to Carter, Penelope, Ella, Kensley, Lainee, Piper, Vivian and Kerristen. Brother to Libby and Keith. Brother-in-law to Pam. Uncle to Tipp, Arial, Meghan, Ira and Reed. His Aunt JoJo. And many more I know to many he was also Coach Bonnell or Coach. Or a teacher. He was the absolute best father. He was simply our dad. He played dinosaurs ( would lick our faces, so gross) he would teach us to shoot guns ( black powder guns have a mean kickback) he was always at our sporting events. Always! He taught us to drive. Made nasty fish spaghetti ( don’t ask) taught us that being late is never an option. We were usually waiting for the early people to arrive, we were that early! He glued together are wounds. And help grow my hate for football ( that’s all he watched, plus he was a football coach) too much football!! Make you fear for your life when he would bite his tongue, you were in trouble. Never fight him when he wanted you to hold still to get your ingrown toe nails out. Wipe your tears. Walked two of his girls in homecoming court. Walked us down the aisle. Held our babies. Gave them strange gifts and oatmeal raisin cookies (kids were not a fan) red cowboy boots. Forgot our names. Mixed us up. Never could remember our birthdays!! So many memories. A lifetime. But not enough at the same time. He was tough and he taught us to be strong, independent people. He was ready to move on. And as much as we still wanted time with him we decided as a family to let him go and find peace. We surrounded him and supported him to the very end. It was our turn to give him one last gift yesterday. Now he’s at peace and with his parents. We’ll forever miss him. “Though we saw it coming it still hurts” All my love your favorite third child! I was trying to explain to Brad that I’m pretty sure that smelling your baby’s head is good for you. Surely there is research to back this up?! . Please tell me I am not the only one who is intoxicated by that sweet warm crown? After a long day, I will just snuggle my babies and breathe them in like I’m meditating with some strong and very effective essential oils. I feel sort of recharged and whole again. .
