Full on fall...starts right now! Photo by @erikmcr
I learned a long time ago that this account is dedicated to quality adventure and travel content. I spent a long time fighting it. But like I always lost. So I finally realized....I could create a sister account to share all my favorite lifestyle and interior moments on. So I did. Please give @americanavibes a follow. It’s an extension of FOLK, but where the shelter, lifestyle, and such will live. @americanavibes @americanavibes @americanavibes
We start life as a whole. A perfect being. Created and crafted by the universe to be one of its most perfect accomplishments. But soon after we start getting chipped away. The society around us starts shoving us into their molds, molds that have been the jurisdiction of moral man over centuries of ignorance and manipulation. The question becomes....how do we rebuild ourselves? How do we as a society rewrite those tactics. How do we create a society that feels loved and empowered and inherently Whole. The idea of making something with one’s hands...something that will live on long after our hands have grown old and grey is something that I have always celebrated and cherished. Today on the website I share @maggie_pate’s story. I hope you’ll go to the link in our profile to read it. To celebrate her beautiful work and to promote the importance of hand made and artisan work. We must continue to foster the arts, the creatives, and the makers in our society. www.folklifestyle.com #maker #handmade #americanmade #smallbusiness #buyfolk #artisan #craft #americana #wherewomencreate.
This caption has nothing to do with this photo of Snoqualmie, but it’s my caption and my photo. The other photos a from @taylorswift‘s pop up in NYC this week. Back in like 1996, yes before a lot of y’all were born, Disney channel used to do concerts with up and coming artists. The only one I ever watched was LeAnn Rimes. I don’t know why I even watched it, I suppose i was just patiently waiting for Zenon to premiere four years later. But there I was in the living room watching LeAnn Rimes perform at Disney World in a brown crushed velvet pant suit, Hilary Clinton style. At the age of six I was already a seasoned country music fan, but this concert was different. LeAnn was just a kid. I was absolutely enamored. I wanted her posters on my bedroom door. I wanted to be a member of her fan club. I wanted all her cassette tapes. I wanted to be a singer just like her. Even at six the idea of getting to perform and touch people and change lives through music inspired me, and I wanted it to be my life’s work. I set out to learn all the steps, which I’m not sure how I figured out in a pre internet world. But I took out my cassette recorder, recorded a tape of me singing something, and with my pink gel pen sent it off to Nashville with “Curb Records Nashville” written on it. I found stamps in the kitchen added a whole bunch and sent it off to Nashville. A few months later it returned back to me, but had the proper address added to it Incase I wanted to resend. I still haven’t had the nerve to do so. It’s in an barn or garage somewhere. I also can’t carry a note in a bucket. I’m glad @taylorswift was equally as inspired by women like @leannrimes and the @dixie_chicks and actually made it all the way to Nashville.
